Beyond the Bayou Available Jan. 31

BEYOND the BAYOU

What would you do if your child –your everything – has lost his life to senseless violence? You have the opportunity to save him but it will cost you exorbitantly.

Nine-year-old Kolbi Hampton, the only son and love of his mother’s life is accidentally gunned down in a drive-by shooting in his New Orleans home, in which his neighbors are the intended target. Kolbi isn’t an ordinary kid. He is a talented athlete, a quick thinker, and an old soul who leaves an impression on everyone that he encounters.
Tamara Gibson, no stranger to loss, is going through an abrupt break-up from Kolbi’s father --handsome young pulmonary doctor. In the mist of her depression over their separation, Kobi has proved to be her sole reason for waking up in the morning. When Tamara discovers that the next-door neighbor isn’t the only victim of the shooting, but that her son is also a victim, she becomes hysterical. Realizing that there is nothing any doctor can do to save him, not even Dr. Hampton, Kolbi's father, Tamara is reminded of the rumors that she’s heard of Madame Savoy, New Orleans voodoo legend, and her ability to perform miracles. But she is also reminded of the fact that making the decision to do things the unnatural way, instead of the way intended by God comes with serious consequences. Should Tamara take matters into her own hands and trust in Madame Savoy to save her child or should she turn to her Christian faith to guide her into making the best decision?
